Our awesome anniversary weekend!

Hi Everyone!

I never really post much on the blog, so Shannon asked me to write about our weekend together for our Anniversary. It started off on Friday when our friend Kristy Barkley picked up the kids around 4pm for an overnighter at their house. THANKS Kristy! (And Rob I guess ;) We headed up to Nashville to check in to our hotel. We stayed in the Courtyard Marriott right in the middle of downtown. What's weird is there actually wasn't a BoM in any drawers! We got a 2 double bed room so we moved some stuff around and put them both together for a bigger than King Size bed ;)

We chilled in the hotel for a few mins and then headed off to The Melting Pot for our first fondue experience. The place was really nice, dim lit and romantic. We were seated a giant table for just two of us but it was still nice. We then got to dip stuff in some melted cheese, we picked the mexican kind.. it was pretty good. We both got the same main course, came with filet mignon, chicken, shrimp and sausage. This was our first time doing this but we got it down pretty quick. It was kinda stressful having to cook like 3 things at the same time over and over.. we did it though and it was pretty good! It was a lot of food and we ended up not eating it all, we did get dessert though! Melted peanut butter chocolate over cheesecake and poundcake and strawberries and brownie bites etc.... YUM.

After stuffing ourselves we walked over to our next activity.. which was a Nashville Ghost Tour! The tour guide was dressed up for the period and carried a lantern and stuff.. and that's about as interesting as she got. She wasn't a very good story teller.. or funny.. or interesting, so that didn't turn out so great. But at least we got to see some of the Nashville sites and stuff.

After the tour we walked around and talked for a while and checked out the sites. Then we went back to the hotel and decided we were both pretty thirsty.. come to find out if we didn't want to hit a bar the nearest gas station was a couple miles away.. We went anyway! :) Was an interesting walk with lots of interesting people to watch in their craziness.

After our long soda journey we went back to the hotel...... and since this is a family blog I won't go into what we did for the rest of the night.

The next day we slept in! With no kids to wake us up! Then we walked around again outside to see if we could find some breakfast somewhere.. didn't have much luck but we got to see the difference between daytime Nashville and night time Nashville.. quite the difference!

So then we checked out and drove out to the river where our friends the Barkley's invited us to cruise out on their boat! It was a pretty fun day with a not so fun ending for the Barkley's boat, but we went tubing and swimming in the river and it was both fun and relaxing.

In short it was a pretty awesome weekend with friends and family, and that's what it's really all about.

Me and the love of my life on our special night. Isn't she hot?!?
