Happy 8yrs!

I meant to post about this yesterday but welll.. I spaced out a bit. So better late than never.
Yesterday was not only Cinco De Mayo.. or my brother Garys birthday but it was also the 8yr anniversary of my receiving my temple endowments as well as the 8yr anniversary of getting engaged to Mr H.

I was planning on going on a mission. In fact, I had did pretty much everything I needed to go turn my mission papers in. The only thing holding me back was my iron levels... which were dangerously low at the time and had I tried to turn my papers in with those numbers, they would have turned it down. So I had to wait a month to work to get my iron up. In the mean time, I met Mr H. Meeting him changed everything!! I fell for him reallly fast with the guy. But regardless, because we weren't committed to anything permanent at that time, I decided to move forward with my mission plans. We had talked about marriage but he agreed to support whatever I decided to do and would wait for me. This was also around the time the prophet had said that if a woman had the chance to get married, they should do that and not turn it down to serve a mission. That put things in perspective for both of us. Anyways I decided to still go to the temple because I felt I was ready and whether I got engaged or whether I went on a mission- I needed to go to the temple. So Jon came down from California (this was technically our 2nd date) to be there with me. Well without boring you any further, he proposed that day. So needless to say, I didn't go on a mission but my life did change and for the better. We were then married 3 months later.. we don't waste anytime!

So Happy 8yr Engagement Anniversary Mr H!

Wow- what a story! I guess he just couldn't stand the thought of being away from you for 18 months. Lucky you! Congrats, guys!

It's been fun seeing all of the stuff you did with your family.
What are those green things in the lake pictures? Did you call them trees? Us AZ girls just don't know what that's all about!

Oh that is a great story! You should write that down for your kids and their kids!

That's really sweet!! When it's right, it's right! So why waste time, right? Was the engagement a surprise or did you know it was coming that day?
